Calculations of the Alpha Decay Half-lives of Some Polonium Isotopes Using the Double Folding Model

The calculations of the alpha decay half-lives some Polonium isotopes in mass range 186 - 218 have been carried out using Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) semiclassical approximation. alpha-nucleus effective potential used contains Coulomb potential, centrifugal and nuclear potential. is obtained via double folding model, with microscopic NN interactions derived from relativistic mean field theory Lagrangian (termed R3Y). Different parametrizations R3Y employed computation potentials. results are compared ones famous Michigan-3-Yukawa (M3Y) interactions. use density-dependent interaction also considered. When to available experimental data, there improvements when potentials density-independent employed.
